Some light at the end of the tunnel?

Well we hustled around today and got everything for our noon appt. at the embassy. I did have to ride a motorcycle taxi (boda-boda) because of a traffic jam in town. If I were a cat I would have used up several of my nine lives during a 15 minute span. We found the consular in a much better frame of mind for helping us today and we turned in everything we had and he should get the stuff from Nairobi tomorrow and also speak with the judge asap and he actually said that if we can make a few corrections to our paperwork and all goes well that he will consider granting the Visa on Thurs. am when we go in! How I pray that is the case because I'm not leaving Masseh behind and my Malaria meds run out on Saturday:) Janet if you could find out which days this week flights out are available and we'll be ready in case.... Masseh is happy and eating great etc. but doesnt want to stand on the leg- they are reviewing the X-rays with me later today and she is on the medications and seems okay. Her diaper rash is really dried up and so is mine for that matter. Basketball at the University is still my stress reliever and the McKenzies employees are awesome people- Jimmy, Joyce, Kenneth, and Doreen have helped me and Masseh more than I can ever repay-as have McKenzies family. I've eaten posho every day and loved every bite. Please continue to pray for a successful and speedy Visa and safe return home with our sweet girl. Love to Janet, Kaya, and the gang!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A light? Is that possible? I'm cannot tell you how relieved I am that it went okay at the embassy. What do you mean you have to talk to the judge? I spoke with the airlines and the soonest flight they have leaving (other than tomorrow-Wed.) is on Sunday. Friday's flight is full and doesn't work with your ticket. Let me know as soon as you know so I can book that. Too bad KLM doesn't fly out more days. Let me know on the x-rays for Masseh. I love you guys. Keep up the good work. The end just may be in sight. By the way, please do not ride a boda for the remainder of your trip as I would like to have you home in once piece :) Love love

From Lance —
Glad to hear that things are looking up for you guys. I well recall how eager we were to flee K-stan by the end, and although I know you have a much stronger connection to Uganda, I'm sure you're ready to be home and move on to the next phase of integrating Masseh. Also, the Lakers need your encouragement, plus any tips for Kobe you may have picked up from your games over there. Hope to see you all soon.

Its Nathan at the embassy who needs to speak with the judge- should be fine. We have some odds and ends to gather before Thurs as well-very doable. Sunday flight huh- seems far but before todays appt. went well I would have jumped at Sun. so okay. X-rays were negative- she is on anti-inflams(ibuprofen) and antibiotics in case of infection. We've doubled her vitamin intake and she has a topical ointment, also the iron supplement. She does have a fever tonight but still cheerful and good bowels etc. If it is a sprained knee she'll be okay its just that her little body cant handle distress right now. We're watching her closely and shes a fighter you know that by now. Maybe call Ron the travel agent to see if he can swing something sooner- if not we're good for Sunday I pray. I really want to see your face you know- and throw Kaya up dangerously high and catch her like we always do- I sure miss you guys. LOVE LOVE
Go Lakers-get the ball to Gasol!

Was there an actual injury to her knee? I'm glad the x-rays are negative but I don't understand why she is still running the fever. That worries me. Don't overdose her on vitamins please, just keep with the recommended does for her age and weight:) Seriously, too many vitamins can be bad for her. As for the flight, I would love to have you home sooner but KLM only flies on Tues, Wed. Fri, and Sun. so in order to use the ticket we have, you have to go on those days. Maybe you should email the travel agent and see but I'm pretty sure it can't be changed. I'd love for you to leave on Thurs. but really just glad that it looks like you can actually come home. We can't wait to see you. We love you so much!!!

we go at 2:00 tomorrow for the Visa- everything seems in order. The consular will speak with the judge in the morning so lets pray all goes well and we are set. I will post as soon as i know. janet its easier for you to contact the travel agent so if we get the visa see if fridays flight can work, can it really be full? if not Sunday it is. I bought a few more malaria pills to get me through so lets hope masseh gets and stays healthy. tonight we ran to wentz because she had little blisters on her feet- they dismissed it as a symptom of malnutrition and gave me something to put on them if they pop-coincidentally the night before joyce had crushed some garlic and applied to her feet-then put her socks on to let the feet absorb it. the nurse said theres no way the blisters were caused by the garlic and true we had done it 2 weeks ago with no blisters occurring and it did help with the fever immediately. she hasnt run a fever today and is eating/drinking/pooping great so we'll keep an eye on the knee and the blisters. this little girl needs some TLC from her mama right away.... the knee seems a little better and she laughed a ton with me today so she is chipper despite all else. much love to kaya and shookie will post tomorrow.... pray for good news!

Blisters on her feet? Please lets get her home soon. You guys haven't consulted the witch doctor have you:)I don't exactly have the travel agents phone number. I'm still in Idaho (going home tomorrow) but will try to access it. Only problem is that I don't know your password as our computer automatically puts it in. I am praying praying that the judge cooperates and the visa is in hand tomorrow. Why does Nathan have to talk to the judge? Kiss Masseh for me. Love you.
