Saturday Night Live

Well Masseh had to go back to the clinic real briefly tonight- she instantly broke out in tears when she saw the Dr. so did I for that matter. She has a white film growing in her mouth and down her throat making it painful to swallow- probably contributing to her gagging/vomiting recently. The Dr. said it was a fungus and gave us a syrup- shes been on so many antibiotics recently- would she have a yeast infection or thrush(those are funguses right?) Would we want to get some good bacteria back in her system-yogurt type stuff? She should be fine but seriously that clinic has scarred me for life- let alone poor Masseh! Uganda Cranes national soccer team is playing Niger today- we are up 1-0 with a few minutes to go- gotta run.... Pray for good results on the passport and for Masseh to feel better. Love to all, especially my girls!

It's just one thing after the other isn' it? My poor little girl and husband. I hadn't even seen this post when Jenny called and told me to tell you to give her yogurt. So yes it would be thrush(must run in the family). Steve said it is probably nystatin syrup she is taking and should do the job. Another thing you could do is get an acidophilus capsule that we gave the Mckinzie's and open them up and put them in some food for Masseh. That might help to rebalance her little intestinal system. I am glad she had a good night last night and seems to be doing better. Hopefully this will be the last trip to the doctor. Waht else did the embassy doctor say? How much did she way. Are all the test results in? We love you and are praying the passport is ready Monday so you can get the Visa started the same day. Is that possible? Promise Dennis a date with Patty if that will help:)
The airline was pretty sure that you could not fly out Friday but if you get the passport Monday I will try again. Let's just do Wed. instead. We love you so much!Keep up the prayerful patience and persistence.

I forgot to tell you one other reason to hurry home. The Lakers and the Celtics are in teh playoffs. It starts Thurs. so you will have to make the Wed. flight.

hey babe- the embassy dr. was the rudest person i've ever talked to and gave me no extra advice on Masseh but he was the physician required by the US Embassy so whatever. she was HIV negative again but I havent heard any other results. will do on yogurt and acidophilus, it is nystatin shes taking. love you and the lakers!!!! kakakkakakakakakak kaya!

I just reread the comments and realized that I need to start proofreading what I write. I do know that it is weigh not way. What have you been doing the last few days to pass the time (other than going to the Wentz clinic)? Any more basketball with the Kenyans? Also, where does Masseh sleep? Maybe church will be a nice change of pace tomorrow. Just be safe on public transportation. Patty and I were saying that it is impossible to explain to others just how crazy it is. Kaya, by the way, has put herself solely in charge of doing dishes. Who says an almost 3 year old can't help around the house? In fact, I'm expecting to hear a crash any minute. We are missing you so much and can't wait to have you home. We had corn on the cob tonight which made me think of the time you ate 6 ears at my parents house :) Hope to hear from you soon. Love, Kaya and mom

Great idea to do this all on the blog. Lara sent me the link-- this is your cousin Emily. We are so excited for you and little Masseh, and we can't wait to meet her-- and Kaya for that matter! We will be praying for you all, too.

it was 7 ears in one sitting and i plan on breaking that record this summer. i have played twice with the kenyans- they no longer say "fluke" every time i make a shot theyve never imagined possible before. i have purchased some more souveneirs with the dough i saved by switching to geico -i mean the cheaper hotel. and i cant wait to see my girls-much as i love uganda i'm ready to come home. church was good and i gave them the materials we brought-they were very grateful. masseh usually sleeps with joyce and spends the day with me and mealtimes w/ joyce-she loves the local food and her appetite is back---you best learn how to make posho! will let you know how passport goes tomorrow- i fasted today for the Lords help and guidance-we'll be OK! LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Speaking of souveneirs, we now have 3 wood carvings of Africa and no space on the wall to put them so please no more. They are lovely though. If you could pick up another oblong bowl that would be great. It's probably best that Masseh sleeps with Joyce. That hotel is no place for a child :) Patty and I were scarred after thinking it was blood all over the floor instead of stain. I'm glad that you were able to take the materials to church. Hopefully they will be useful. I'm also fasting for Masseh's health today and speedy return. By the way, I was able to pick up your work checks including Sherri's check so that is all taken care of. Now I can go on that shopping spree I've been planning. Love to you and Masseh. Let me know as soon as you have news tomorrow.

The Mckenzie's don't happen to have another couple coming this week do they? I could just send the documents with them.

We are the next family and we leave June 14th. We are happy to help if you need us... but I am pretty sure whatever they need, you will want to have there by the time we get there. Praying for you!
